 This is my Story

I've been working in healthcare for over 20 years, first as a phlebotomist then as a nurse. When we moved to Texas, I started working Critical Care in a busy regional hospital. I loved being a nurse. I got to work with so many amazing people. What I didn't love was the exhaustion, the stress, and constantly feeling pulled in a million directions. Along with the crazy schedule of being a night nurse (sleeping during the day is not as restful), there was the demanding life of being a critical care nurse, charge nurse, wife, mom, woman, and all the other roles of life. It started to affect my mood, my state of mind, and my health. I was always tired, hungry, cranky, and quick to yell about the littlest things. I was losing who I was deep in my heart. 

One day, I decided to follow my heart. I sought out yoga teacher training. This was the first step in becoming a Mind Body Specialist. It was moving back into me; the real me that was buried under the piles of obligations, expectations, and frustrations. When I started to shed the layers of what didn't belong to me, I felt able to breathe again. I felt joy again. I also stopped being so angry and reactive. I discovered compassion and kindness for myself. Through that process I became more kind and compassionate towards others. 

On this journey, I started the process of healing from the effects of stress. I was sleeping better. I had more energy. I was laughing and smiling more. I was on the path to being me again.

Now I’m sharing what I learned. Take this journey with me. I can't walk the path for you but I can walk with you. Find your way back to you.
